Fabric glue is an adhesive product that attaches two pieces of cloth together. It serves as an alternative to the traditional method of sewing with a thread and needle. Also, it can be used to mend patches in your jeans and clothes.

There are two kinds of fabric glue: non-permanent and permanent. The former is able to form temporary bonds between two pieces of fabric while the latter can create laminations that last much longer.

For objects that are too small or too difficult to be sewn, using fabric glue would help.

How to use fabric glue for clothes

  1. Wash the fabric you intend to glue, but refrain from using fabric softener.
  2. Spread a thin layer of adhesive on the fabric and apply pressure.
  3. Allow it to rest for about 2-4 hours.
  4. You can wash the fabric after 48 hours.
*Note: Non-permanent fabric glue is generally not recommended for making things that are meant to last. While it is washable, each wash will weaken the strength of the adhesive. Overtime, the glue will wear off.


How to remove fabric glue from clothes

  1. Try to remove as much glue as possible from the fabric by scraping it off.
  2. Immerse the fabric in hot water that’s mixed with pre-wash stain cleaner.
  3. Wash the clothes in the warmest temperature that it can withstand without being damaged.
