Where can this product be used?
  • All types of small household repairs

What materials is this product suitable for?
  • Metal
  • Rubber
  • China
  • Wood
  • Most plastics*
*Not recommended for use on paper, leather, polyethylene or Teflon.

  1. Carefully pierce seal at end of metal tube with reverse end of cap. Replace plastic nozzle.
  2. Surfaces to be bonded should fit exactly and should be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and grease.
  3. Apply a drop of Supa Glue to only one of the surfaces to be bonded. Use sparingly. Do not spread. (Note: 1 drop covers an area of 25mm x 25mm.)
  4. Quickly align both surfaces. Keep fingers away from any excess adhesive so they will not get stuck. Apply slight pressure to ensure effective spreading and bonding. Should you fail to align the surfaces correctly, do not attempt to re-align them and bond together again. Keep apart and completely clean the surfaces (with acetone or nail polish remover). When dry, re-apply adhesive, re-align and bond again.
  5. Allow several minutes to provide sufficient bond strength for practical use. Maximum strength is achieved after 12 hours.
  6. Wipe tip of tube with a cloth or paper and replace cap.
  Limitations:
  • *Not suitable for bonding plastics such as Polypropylene and Polyethylene.
  • Water resistant not water proof, therefore not suitable for surfaces that will be continually wet.
  • Not flexible and has low impact resistance.
  • Not suitable for repairing items that are in direct contact with hot liquids – eg. saucepans or repairing handles of vessels which contain hot liquids.
  • Will not permanently bond glass or materials containing alkaline elements.
  • Has no gap filling properties therefore surfaces need to be a close fit.
  • Not recommended for highly porous surfaces.
  • Not recommended for paper or leather.
  • Supa Glue can create a white residue on the surface of a material if the area is not well ventilated.  Clean the affected area with acetone to remove residue.
  • Excellent when used with other adhesives, as the temporary tack.
  • After use, wipe excess product from the nozzle with a tissue dipped in acetone.
  • In the event that fingers get stuck together, apply a solvent such as acetone to contact areas and wash off with water. Do not use solvents near eyes or open wounds.
  • Since Selleys Supa Glue cures with moisture, set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions.
  • Supa Glue cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly.
  • To remove excess from materials, it is recommended that the material be soaked in a solution of acetone and water (ie. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Where soaking is not possible, try placing a piece of  absorbent material (eg. cotton wool) soaked in acetone on the excess for 5-10 minutes, topping up the acetone if it evaporates. Gently rub the surface with the material to remove the residues. Test the surface in an inconspicuous spot to ensure it is unaffected by acetone before attempting removal using this method.
  • Do not squeeze tube before removing cap. Handle tube by plastic nozzle neck when opening and closing cap. This prevents pressurising tube which may force material into cap, preventing a tight seal after use.
  • Once open, Supa Glue has a limited shelf life (ie. approx 1 year provided the tip is wiped clean and the cap replaced securely after each use).
  • Storing in a refrigerator can reduce the risk of hardening in the tube.
  • Leaving a pin stuck in the (cleaned) nozzle during storage can reduce the risk of the nozzle becoming clogged with cured adhesive which is difficult to clear.
  • Uncured product may be removed with acetone.
  • Cured product can be sanded and scraped.
