Differences Between Air Paint Sprayers and Airless Paint Sprayers

Regular air paint sprayers use extra equipment, such as an air compressor, to build air pressure for atomising paint. In contrast, airless paint sprayers use piston and hydraulics technology to pump paint through a spray gun and high pressure to produce and sustain more robust paint outputs. This results in advantages such as:

Paired with an airless spray gun, airless paint sprayers are typically much faster than air paint sprayers, making them ideal for larger surfaces and professional projects.

• Versatility

Airless paint sprayers are built to handle medium to high-viscosity fluids, making them more suitable for thicker paints such as primers, undercoats, and latex paints. Conversely, air paint sprayers can only handle more viscous paints once they have been thinned.
