Factors to Consider When Getting a High Pressure Hose

Here are some things to consider to ensure you get the right high pressure hose for your spray painting projects.

• Maximum pressure

Ensure the maximum pressure of your hose is more than that of your attached device. For example, a hose with a psi of 3300 (228 bar) would be compatible with an airless paint sprayer with a psi of 3000 (207 bar).

• Diameter

High pressure hoses used for spray painting should ideally have a diameter of ⅜ inch to ½ inch (9.5mm to 12.7mm), to maintain the pressure within the tubing.

• Length

The length of the hose may also affect the output of pressure. A longer hose may be better suited for larger working spaces, but may have a lower pressure output than a shorter hose.

• Attachments

Quality attachments (e.g. nozzles, connectors, fittings) need to be used on these hoses to withstand the consistent high pressure. Pair your hose with a reliable airless spray gun to achieve the best results in your painting projects.
