These beautiful sun catchers are perfect for getting the kids creative juices flowing.
It does require a bit of patience as the glue dries, but watching the change in the colours is half the fun!
What You Need
- Selleys Aquadhere
- Tooth picks
- A variety of plastic or metal lids (eg. jam jar lids, vegemite lids, etc.)
- String or wool
- Hole punch
- Knife
- Scissors
- Optional glitter
How To
Step 1
Squeeze a thin layer of Selleys Aquadhere into a lid, making a nice even cover over the lid.
Step 2
Put a few small drops of food colouring on the glue. Tip: Less is more! If you want to get really creative you might like to sprinkle some glitter on a couple of the lids.
Step 3
Use a tooth pick to make patterns and swirls with the colours. Tip: Try not to overdo this step as is doesn’t take much to go from pretty pattern to blurred blob. Leave to dry for 3 days and watch how the colour patterns change over time.
Step 4
Once the glue is dry, gently remove the sun catchers from the lids. Tip: You may need to run a knife around the edge of the lid, get mum or dad to help with this step! Trim around the circle to tidy it up or get creative and cut into different shapes!
Step 5
You can now place the suncatchers straight on your glass window. They will easily stick on and easily peel right off again off.
