A lever tap is a type of faucet that allows you to control water flow by pushing a lever handle. These taps do not require much strength or dexterity during use, making them suitable for children, the elderly and people with disabilities.

Mixers allow you to control the temperature of the water that flows out of the spout. For lever-type mixer taps, you can adjust the temperature using either 1 or 2 handles.
For non-mixers, the water dispensed by the piping system determines the temperature. This usually correlates with day-to-day weather conditions unless a separate water heater is installed.• Single vs double
Both single and double lever taps allow you to control the pressure and volume of water.
Single taps come in both mixer and non-mixer variations. In single-levered mixers, water temperature is adjusted by twisting the handle to one side for hotter water and the other side for cooler water.
On the other hand, double levers are generally used for mixer faucets only. The flow of hot water is controlled by one handle, while cold water is controlled by the other.• Up-and-down vs side-to-side
Some lever taps are operated by pushing the handle up or down to control the water flow. They are usually the easiest to use as not much precision is required to turn them on and off.
In contrast, other lever faucets operate by having their handles twisted from side to side. These taps are easier to maintain compared to their up-and-down counterparts which may be easily damaged when too much strength is applied during use.
